Can you remember the day you held the damp soil in your hands and with the smell of it, fell helplessly in love with the sun?
We are the connectors between earth and sky. Containers of both instinct and reflection. Just as the rivers tell the story of the land, our bodies tell the story of our inner landscape. It has become a modern response to adulthood to lift up from the bottoms of our feet. We are coached by our culture to move into our heads. Like zombies bent forward from the hips, head leading body in the search for more brains. The threads that once flowed like indigo streamers from our hearts, connecting us to all things recoil like the tentacles of an anemone as we grow. But they don't have to.
What if those threads of connection were valued by a culture that knew how to tend them? What if we re-awakened those feelings of unhindered connection? The path to our heart's longing is not found through our ability to think, it is found through our ability to listen, not only with our ears, but with our whole body. When we listen in this way, like we did as children, we begin to shed the layers of protection we've built up. We begin to extend again these threads of connection.

Mother and Crone: What lies between?

A conversation for women.*
Maiden, mother, and crone are the three most commonly discussed phases of the feminine form. In the west we see these phases most clearly in marketing: the television commercials geared toward children, the print advertising we read every day, and even in the music we listen to. Often we are told a youthful appearance in both mind and body is most desirable. What happens when we fail to honor and acknowledge the beauty of each life phase? What happens when we ignore the challenges? Whether you are in your twenties, thirties, forties, or beyond, please join us for a conversation about what it means to be between mother and crone. Help illuminate the myriad of strengths and wisdoms and challenges each life phase has to offer in the context of the forgotten step we have come to know as mid-life.
*Due to the personal nature of this discussion we invite only women over 18 and those who self identify as such.
